Elizabeth Favreau, owner and videographer, will meet the player at the ball field, review his or her needs and film position-applicable skills, consisting of multiple hits, throws, pitches, blocks, etc. The filming can range anywhere from 1 to 4 hours depending on the player’s position and/or number of positions a particular player plays.
Back at the studio, each skill (each pitch/throw/hit) will be numbered for review by a Diamond Skills Video-affiliated coach, who will review and analyze the footage, select the best skill performances from this raw footage, and return the selected skill numbers to me, which will then be edited into a final 3 – 5 minute skills video for the player to send out to college coaches of his or her choice.
Our skills video evaluators have played and/or coached high school and NCAA college level baseball or softball. This experience enables them to definitively select the best film segments of properly-executed skills from the raw footage filmed by Diamond Skills Video. From there, the best segments will be compiled into a final skills video for college coaches to watch and review.
DSV-Affiliated Coaches know what college coaches are looking for, so when evaluating the pre-edited raw film footage, the DSV-Affiliates Coach’s goal is to make sure your player’s best talent is showcased. Here are just some of the skills college coaches like to see:
Hitting: Players stance, hand position, point of contact…
Footwork: As an example… for pitchers: soft landing foot and balance; infielders: ground ball and fly ball approach, timing…
Glovework: 2-hand fundamentals, fielding the ball, ball transfer…
…and many more offensive and defensive skills that cover every aspect of a player’s baseball execution on the field. Our coaches will select the best of your player’s successfully executed skills, which will be formatted into a highly organized 3 to 5 minute video, easily accessible via a YouTube link, so that your son or daughter can put their best foot forward when they contact prospective college coaches.
I am a mom who loves baseball and assisted my son through the baseball recruiting process as he pursued his dream of playing college ball when he graduates from high school in 2014. We’re thrilled to report that he has been accepted to and has committed to Kean University (D3) and will be starting in the Fall of 2014.
My formal education and professional experience have been in the fields of architecture and commercial interior design. Baseball, however, has become a passion of mine over the past several years, and ever since both of my sons playing the game, I have greatly enjoyed documenting their games by keeping the book and taking photos and video of their games.
One thing led to another, and I started creating team photo montages and end-of-season team videos as keepsakes for their teammates and coaches. I realized early on that these wonderful years of baseball would be over before we knew it, so I always made sure my camera was aimed at the ball field whenever a game was being played.
Here I am now, excited and driven to see all of our kids succeed in going after their dreams of becoming student-athletes in college. I am absolutely thrilled to be able to create and provide skills videos to showcase our players’ talents and assist them in bringing their game to the next level!
